[MRSSA News] Driver Certification

The Aberdeen Aqua Addicts plans on signing the petition. We feel that our
proposal of one tested driver is better. We feel the new rules will force a
lot of our parents, especially the beginners to shy away from wanting to
drive. We all know how hard it is to recruit help and this is just making
it harder.

Todd Thorson

ps. Just because they can't drive a ballet line, doesn't mean they are not
safe.

The petition was put together by Rich Taugner, Alternate NSSA Rep and
former(?) Aqua Skier. Additional information on it can be found at his
website: http://webpages.charter.net/taugner/.

I'm not at my computer right now, but the teams that I know have signed are:
Aqua Skiers, Crivitz Ski Cats, Beaverland Must-Skis and Badwater Ski-Ters.
There's a sixth, but I can't recall the club. In an email Rich had sent me
he said there are a number of others committed to signing as well. BOD
members from several WI region teams told me the only teams that are against
the petition are RAJ and Shermalot. The only two teams with certified
testers. No idea if this is true. The Rats are signing.

Regarding Chris from Sioux Falls he is not a certified tester. However, a
member of the Ski Sprites may be approved as a certified tester at the NSSA
meeting in March.

Steve
