> Many of you may already know, but if you don’t, I thought that you should be aware that fellow NSSA BOD Skip Gilkerson was injured badly in a motorcycle accident this past Wednesday. > “Unfortunately, Skip was involved in a terrible motorcycle accident this past Wednesday traveling from his home in New Braunfels, TX to Miller JH where he teaches and coaches in San Marcos, TX. Around 6:45am, a deer jumped in front of him, he swerved and went down and was hit by the semi-truck following him. Amazingly, the truck straddled Skip but beat him up very badly. He was airlifted to the trauma center at University Hospital in San Antonio where he has been in critical condition since the accident.

His chances of survival looked very slim on Wednesday but the fact that he is still alive is considered progress enough for right now.
