 Attention all NSSA clubs make sure that this is added to all our boat
insurance policies before your next tournament. This just brought to my
attention this afternoon.



*Additional Insured’s:*

*USA Water Ski, Inc., its sponsors, directors, employees, volunteers,
members, clubs, associations, sport disciplines and divisions.*



This is a requirement from headquarters not form the NSSA. The only
exception to this will be for the Central Region tournament this weekend and
the Wisconsin tournament next weekend do to time constants. If you have any
questions either email me or Brandon Wolf at headquarters his phone is

In the event that the organizing club does not meet the sanction
requirements USA-WS’ policy is typically to withdraw sanction approval.
However, in this case, being that the sanction requirements have not
intentionally been negated, we have agreed to grant an exception for the
Central Region Show Ski Tournament to be held on 7/11/09 and the
43rdWisconsin State Show Ski Championships to be held on 7/16-19/09.
This
exception is granted with the understanding that all sanction requirements
in future USA-WS/NSSA sanctioned events will be upheld including the boat
insurance requirements as outlined in the attached.  This document is also
available in the online NSSA tournament kit as well as the Insurance
Resources section of the USA-WS website at www.usawaterski.org.

I have checked in several teams now and it seems the problem common thread
is the boat policy Additional Insured’s.  This morning I contacted an
insurance agent and asked if the additional insured wording must read
exactly as asked for which is;



*“USA Water Ski, Inc. its sponsors, directors, employees, volunteers,
members, clubs, associations, sport disciplines and divisions.” * This is
stated at the bottom of the Towboat Liability and Physical Damage Report.

*And she said YES.  **I had thought it was Ok to just have USA Water Ski but
it is** **not**.  You must have it listed as stated above.*

I am attaching copies (thanks Beaverland) of what is correct and what I
should be receiving.  Your insurance company may have a different form but
all of the information must be on it.  I know that the deadline was the 9th and
some of you will not have this in your packet.  I will make note of it on
your receipt and please bring it with you to the Mandatory Meeting on
Thursday the 16th @ 5:00PM in the Stone Shelter.



All it takes to get this is a call to your Boat Insurance carrier and ask
them to add an additional insured with the above wording to each boat policy
and have them fax or email you a copy. Please make a copy for yourself and
one for the tournament also.
