Hello -
This has been a trying year for many teams. Cedar Rapids is in the 
process of recovering from the worst flood in the cities recorded 
history. Nearly 20% of the city was affected by the flood. Our showsite 
has suffered significant damage to the beach, the retaining wall in 
front of our bleachers, and the bleachers concrete pad was 
undercut. Our dock survived but is currently about 100 yards from the 
river. The river is currently closed to recreational use and it is 
unknown when the city will reopen it for boat traffic. The city is 
handling many significant issues and it is unknown when we will receive 
approval to repair our show site.

So the Five Seasons Ski Team has arranged to relocate the tournament to 
Eagle Lake in Evansdale, IA: the home of the Waterhawks Ski Team. The 
Five Seasons Ski Team is continuing to host the tournament, it has just 
been relocated to a different site. The Five Seasons Ski Team is very 
grateful for the support we have received from the Waterhawks in 
relocating the tournament.

Attached are the tournament papers you need to register your team or 
individual competitor. We ask that you please fill out the entry form 
and mail it along with your entry fee to the address listed on the 
entry form, entries must be postmarked by 7/11/2008. Please bring the 
other tournament forms, to registration on Friday, 7/25, evening from 
7-8pm. Please also email your day and time preference for skiing to the 
tournament chair. We will try to honor as many as we can.

A few teams have reserved their hotel rooms in Cedar Rapids, we 
recommend that you do not cancel your reservation until you have a 
confirmed reservation in the Waterloo area. You may want to offer your 
reservation to other ski teams that may be having issues securing 
rooms. Waterloo has also suffered from the same flood that hit Cedar 
Rapids and many hotel rooms are occupied by FEMA & Red Cross 
workers. Most hotels in Cedar Rapids are a short 40-50 mile drive up 
the interstate.
