We are right in the middle of a fantastic season and have already had a lot
of great groups from all over the world. One in particular was a month back
with Todd Ristorcelli and Bill Doster from WaterSki Magazine. Besides Todd
and Bill we had Open Men´s GOODE National Champ Nick Parsons and World
Slalom Champ Thomas Degasperi. Dave and Dawn Goode flew the crew down in the
Goode jet to get things started right and the excitement just kept going all
week. Watching Nick and Thomas rip 39´s on the 9800 SL, in the warm Costa
Rican water was beyond compare. In addition to some killer skiing we had an
amazing zip line adventure, a thrilling jungle river tour, a tranquil
evening in the hot springs to help soothe the sore muscles, and a great
farewell party on the dock at the lake. A highlight of the week for me was
when Todd, Bill and guest Ryan Doerr took over the hired band´s equipment at
the farewell party and started jamming like professionals--really. They are
all very talented musicians and were way better than the band. How cool is
that?! It seems like the experiences here just keep getting better and
better.

Parsons is coming back and Chad Scott (2nd in 2007 Big Dawg Slalom Finals)

and dial in, and take home if you want to!

enough about the Dartfish computer video analysis. It really has been
working well for us here. We use it for every skier to allow them to see
first hand how they are doing vs. how it should be done. It´s amazing how
much faster skiers improve when they see for themselves what they are doing.
Come on down and try it out. You have to try it to believe it!

New School Ski Tip: The Doggy Door! Last week while coaching I was
explaining the concept of staying chest open to the boat out of the turn by
imagining yourself sliding through a slightly open sliding glass door at the
apex of the turn. The problem is that I also wanted my skier to sit more out
of the turn to get his lower body down in a stronger position earlier,
edging the ski more. I ended up asking him to imagine sliding through a
sliding doggy door instead so that he would have to stay open but also sit
lower to get through it. It sounds funny but it worked really well. Try it
out. Get lower out of the turn and get through the doggy door!!!!
